Chew is really what IMAGE comics should be focusing on; it’s offbeat, both in its writing and art with a wonderful, fun world to explore. Created by John Layman and Rob Guillory, this graphic novel tells the story of Tony Chu. He’s more than just a regular detective with the FDA; he’s a cibopath– whatever he eats he receives a psychic impression from; from a simple hamburger (he flashes on the slaughterhouse death of the cow) to a piece from a corpse (he might see the murder take place).
